Lucia Woo is a visual artist and educator whose practice explores identity, memory, and place through painting, digital illustration, and manga-inspired storytelling. Originally from Hong Kong, she has traveled across Asia and North America, shaping a multidisciplinary practice informed by migration, cultural hybridity, and lived experience.

Beginning her career in graphic design and illustration, Lucia later expanded into fine art, combining traditional painting techniques with experimental materials, including dried flowers, beeswax, and mica powder. Her work often merges fantasy and surrealism with tactile surfaces that reflect themes of transformation, resilience, and emotional connection to place.

Alongside her studio practice, Lucia has worked as an art educator in the Talented Art Program in Louisiana since 2016. She earned her Master’s degree in Art Education from Boston University College of Fine Arts in 2022.

Her work bridges Eastern and Western visual influences, particularly through manga-inspired imagery and narrative portraiture. Across traditional and digital media, Lucia’s practice examines how memory, migration, and imagination shape personal and cultural identity.
